ULSTER COUNTY IS LEADING THE WAY FOR ALL MODES OF TRANSPORTATION

As lifestyles shift and the Millenial generation takes over, we are seeing that cars are not the only show on the road any longer.  I see it all the time with younger families looking for their first home who want to have the ability to walk to work, be near a park, and especially have the option to walk to school.  The model of having a 2 car family is no longer the norm.
This leads us to having to look at our aging infrastructure and shifting sidewalks.  Multiple lanes of car traffic, with no pedestrian or bike access is now a problem.  (Town of Ulster, please take note!)

Recently the Kingston Land Trust, Cornell Cooperative Extension, The Ulster County Board of Realtors, and other organizations had a wonderful Active Transportation Conference.  Please take a look at the video and get an idea of why these initiatives are so very important.  You can click on the link below.
