Below you will find a link to download the latest report from NYSAR (New York State Association of Realtors) which shows the final numbers for 2013 as well as the December 2013 snapshot.
This will give you the opportunity to see what the housing stats are for our local area as well as throughout the state.
We continue to see our real estate market show an upward trend with prices showing a slight increase and a healthy increase in sales volume as well.
Here in Ulster County the total of closed sales was up over 12% for 2013 and the median sales price was up 5.1% rising to $205,000 up from $195,000 in 2012. Although the number of units has increased, we continue to see much lower inventory and we are also seeing that the 'days on market' time is decreasing. This is all very good news for our local real estate market.
If you've been on the fence about selling your home, it is a great time to sell. If you are one of those buyers who has been waiting for the right time, now is also the time you should be in the car with your Realtor. Interest rates are still low, but if the inventory continues to be slim, prices will go up quickly as well as the chance you will lose the house you want if you wait too
